Legendary President

August 1, 2009 a very sad event had occurred. The former President Corazon Aquino had passed away. Basically I know a little about the said former President. In our history class we had discussed about her. According to my history teacher, the former president is the one who release the Filipinos from the Marcos government. She is the one who brings back the democracy in my country. As far as I know Cory Aquino is just a plain housewife of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino. It was Ninoy who want to run for presidency during his time but due to the fact that he was assassinated in Tarmac, Cory Aquino was forced to continue the advocacy of Ninoy. When she was elected as the new President our democratic country, Filipinos are very grateful for her success. During her administration, it is not new to her that there are attempts against her administration but it doesn’t mean that she can’t fight back. I am quite sad that she didn’t run for another term. Maybe because she just want to continue Ninoy’s advocacy of changing the situation of the Philippines. She was also chosen as the “woman of the year” in the time magazine. And now we all know that she had passed away due to her disease namely “colon cancer”. I think that even she suffers from that terrible traitor disease, she still fights back. I don’t know if I could still meet a person like her but I am not losing hope that someday there will be someone who could do the same thing as Cory Aquino did for our country.

It’s UPCAT time

This coming Saturday and Sunday is a very important event for every upcoming fourth year high school student. The reason for this is because the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) would be held this coming Saturday and Sunday. It is not only a very important day but it is also a do or die situation. Because incoming 4th year students are taking a test that will really challenge their minds and their knowledge from 1st year high school to 3rd year high school. Thousands of incoming 4th year students gather to different test centers during the said day. Most of the topics covering the UPCAT are the following: science, reading comprehension, language proficiency, and mathematics. A student must take review classes first before he/she take the exam because most of the questions covers atleast 10 minutes of your time. For me it is a very long exam because the whole exam is good for about 5 hours. So it is advisable for exam takes that they should bring their own snacks and drinks inside. That is also the reason why proctors are allowing the exam takers to eat during the exam. In the end, 6 long months would passed before the results would be revealed.

Long Semester-break

Semester-break AKA Semester-Break is one of the best benefits of being a UP student. Among the different universities present here in the Philippines, UP is one of the universities who offers long vacation whether it is Christmas Break or Semester Break. Normal semesters break here in UP covers for almost one month in which the other universities can’t offer. As well as our Christmas breaks because it covers for more than one month. It is not surprising if that is the case here in UP because during the regular class days we experience too much stress. The reason behind this is because as far as I know UP maintains its high standards in terms of the level of its educating system.

Hard to find hardware

The hardware I’m talking about is the hardware that is installed within the computer. It is quite good if your laptop has a complete set of hardware. What if your laptop has a missing hardware? My article for today is about my laptop. At first I was very happy and contented with my laptop. I am very amazed of its features. But recently I am disappointed with my laptop. Granted that it is lighter in terms of weight and it have a superior sound quality and graphics quality but it doesn’t have a normal vga port. VGA port is a port wherein you will connect the LCD projector cable so that you can use your laptop for different presentations. Another thing that really disappoints me with this type of VGA port is that the VGA cable that will fit the said VGA port is not easy to find. As far as I know, you can’t buy the said VGA cable within the Philippines. I am just hoping that before I used this laptop for my defense presentation, the VGA cable would be available within the Philippines.

What would you refer: retainers or dental braces?

There is a specific reason why some people wear retainers and braces. For me the primary reason in wearing these kinds of orthodontic apparatus is because of certain irregularities within our teeth. Retainer is just one kind of an orthodontic apparatus that can fix a dental problem. It consists of a special straight wire that is installed within your teeth to fix a dental problem. Retainers are more affordable than the dental braces. But if you have a major teeth problem then you should subscribe to dental braces. Dental braces on the other hand, are more expensive but more appropriate in fixing major teeth problems. It doesn’t only consist of a special straight wire but sometimes it can also have special type of rubber bands to keep the teeth together. Braces are very painful at first but it is the best option if you really want to correct your teeth irregularities. Because dental braces are far more expensive than retainers, dentists today are not opposed of the written agreement that the customer should give an initial down payment then the customer will pay certain amount in each and every visit. So in your own opinion what would you choose???

My beloved domesticated cat

My article for today is about my beloved cat. The name of the cat is “Ming”. Basically I don’t domesticate cats because the smell of their fecal matter is the worst smell I’ve ever smell in my entire life. For me dogs are more important than cats because dogs can guard and protect your house. Dogs are friendlier than cats. They are quite independent that cats because cats are very self-centered and jealous type of animal. We have a domesticated cat at home. I will assure that she is a domesticated cat because we didn’t buy her from any animal pet shops here in our country. Actually she belongs to the previous family who resides in our house before. We start to adopt her because we feel that every creation that has life should be taken to consideration. In other words we should give him/her a nice shelter and food. Until now she is still staying with us. There are times that she uses her sharp fingernails against me but I can understand the reason why she did something like that. As we all know they are still animals who sometimes follow their instincts. Maybe the reason why she scratches my skin at times is because her instinct tells her that I would do something to her. Despite of her instinct there are times that she is very sweet with me. I will post some of her pictures below.

Being unfaithful

We all know that we should be faithful especially if we are committed with someone. But we can’t deny the fact that sometimes we do naughty things just because we are confused on the situation. My article is about a girl who has boyfriend. At first she is very faithful with him but suddenly she had changed. The reason for this is because her boyfriend always pushes her to the limit of her patience. There was a past event that had happened in the past wherein the guy forces her to have sex with him. She is not quite ready in handling the situation. She is scared of his request so she decided to do something else. Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend comes into the picture. Thinking that she and her boyfriend broke up, she decided to have another boyfriend so that she could finally move on. But to her surprise the guy wants to reconcile with her and fix things with her. She is too confused to think of a better way on how to solve the problem so without further ado, she decided to give him a second chance. She didn’t realize what she had done because she doesn’t even realizes that she already have two boyfriends having the same commitment with her. Until now she is problematic with what she had done. I think that she is afraid to risk something important or she is afraid that she would be alone for a long time.
